According to Beat Instrumental May 1970, this session happened already in June, but that may be a confusion with the first session mentioned above. Sometime this is referred to as a demo session and sometimes as the first attempt to record the debut album. Songs recorded: Black Sabbath, Behind the Wall of Sleep, Wicked World and others. According to "How Black Was Our Sabbath", the first attempt at recording some of the songs Sabbath wrote themselves was a session on Septemat Trident Studios.According to the notes on the Bucks Music reels, 19 takes of The Rebel were recorded on August 22, 1969, at Trident Studios, St Anne's Court, London, England.Recorded songs: A Song For Jim, Blue Suede Shoes and possibly others. According to Jim Simpson, Earth's first recording session took place sometime in June 1969 at Zella Studios, Bristol Street, Birmingham, England.See the following information that a friend of mine compiled ago: Others may have recorded not during the same sessions as Song for Jim, The Rebel and/or When I Came Down, but possibly around the same time, or after The Rebel and before WICD. ![]() We know for sure The Wizard was one of them. It does seem likely that several of Sabbath's original songs (= non-covers, non-Haines compositions) had already been created, played and recorded earlier to the Nov 1969 sessions.
